Anonymous Browsing
I’ve been trying to clean up my online habits a bit. I use my phone for almost everything, but I also work from my laptop when I’m out of the house. I’m not doing anything unusual, just don’t love the idea of every site, network, and app knowing exactly where I am or what device I’m on. What are some simple ways to browse a bit more anonymously on both devices?
I’d start with the boring but useful stuff: turn off location access for apps that don’t need it, use a browser with decent privacy settings, block third-party cookies, and don’t stay logged into every account all day. On my laptop, I also made a separate browser profile for random browsing, which keeps things a little cleaner. A VPN can help too, especially because it hides your regular IP and makes browsing on public networks feel less exposed. I came across Toggle VPN when looking for something that works on both phone and desktop without too much setup. It’s not a complete invisibility button, but it fits well as one layer.
A lot depends on habits more than one single app. Private browsing mode, tracker blocking, fewer permissions, updated devices, and not connecting to random Wi-Fi all add up. It’s usually better to make a few changes you’ll actually keep using instead of trying to build some complicated privacy setup.
