Hi everyone. I make short videos for social media and I'm tired of editing apps that need an account, add watermarks or upload everything to a server. I'd like a simple set of free tools in the browser for trimming, converting and compressing clips. Does anyone know a service that works on any device and doesn't make you sign up? I'd like to hear what you use and whether it's really private. I'm not a professional editor, just a hobbyist. I'm working on a laptop with limited storage. Any tips are welcome.

I've been using
ClipTools for a while. It's a set of free video tools that run in the browser: convert, compress, trim, crop and more. The site says there's no signup and files are processed on your device, not uploaded, thanks to WebAssembly. It lists over forty tools. Performance depends on your device and the file size, so try a short clip first. Download the result and check the quality before deleting the original. I'd test with a short clip before processing the full file. Everything runs locally, so very large files depend on your device's memory. Keep the original file until you've checked the result. It works in Chrome and other modern browsers, including on phones.
